Online through GRU (Credit Card or Bank Account)
Fees May Apply
GRU customers can pay at gru.com with a credit card or their bank account. You can access our payment portal by clicking on ACCOUNT LOG IN on the GRU homepage and creating a profile. The following conditions apply for online payments:
Pay Bill as a Guest
Customers can pay as a “guest” with a credit card or directly through their bank account and will incur the following service fees:
- Residential customers pay $2.75 per $500 transaction.
- Non-residential customers pay $9.95 per $1,000 transaction.
Through a GRU Profile
Customers who create a GRU Profile and pay using the "Bank Account" option will not be charged any fees. Customers who pay with a credit card or debit card through their profile will be charged the following service fees:
- Residential customers pay $2.75 per $500 transaction
- Non-residential customers pay $9.95 per $1,000 transaction
GRU lobby
No Fees
GRU customers are welcome to pay in our lobby at 301 SE 4th Ave. We accept checks, money orders, cash or cashier’s checks. Credit card payments are not accepted.
Lobby hours:
- 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., M, T, TH, F
- 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., W
GRU Drive-thru
No Fees
GRU customers are welcome to pay at our drive-thru at 301 SE 4th Ave. We accept checks, money orders, cash or cashier’s checks. Credit card payments are not accepted.

“Drop-and-Go!” Box

GRU’s Drop-and-Go! Box is located in the west parking lot, across the street from our Administrative Building, located at 301 SE 4th Ave.
- Payments deposited by 3:30 p.m. will be posted the same business day.
- Payments made after 3:30 p.m. will be posted the following business day.
- Checks, cashier’s checks and money orders are accepted. No cash, please.
Night Depository
No Fees
This drop box is located just outside main entrance of GRU’s Administrative Building, located at 301 SE 4th Ave.
- Payments deposited by 3:30 p.m. will be posted the same business day.
- Payments made after 3:30 p.m. will be posted the following business day.
- Checks, cashier’s checks and money orders are accepted. No cash, please.
Alternate Cash Payment Locations (Cash EZ Pay)
Fees Apply
Customers who want to pay using cash can either visit GRU’s Administration Building or one of our remote payment locations (also called Cash EZ Pay on our website). Our remote payment locations are Walgreens, CVS, Family Dollar, Dollar General and 7-11. The following rules apply:
- Payments must be received before 7 p.m. for same-day credit.
- Customers are charged $1.50 per transaction.
Phone Payment

Customers can pay using our automated service over the phone with their bank account, using a credit card, debit card or PINless debit and incur the following fees:
- Residential customers pay $2.75 per $500 transaction.
- Non-residential customers pay $9.95 per $1,000 transaction.
Mail in Check
No Fees
GRU customers are welcome to mail a check or money order (no cash, please) using the return envelope that accompanies their monthly paper bill, or send it to:
