Brighter Tomorrow Scholarship

Providing scholarship support for prospective engineering students

The Brighter Tomorrow Scholarship Program was established in 2009 by Gainesville Regional Utilities and the Alachua County Public Schools Foundation to provide scholarship support for deserving, financially disadvantaged high school students in the Gainesville area who want to pursue engineering degrees at the University of Florida.

Interested students should complete the general senior scholarship application through The Education Foundation of Alachua County.

Scholarship Recipients

• The 2016 banquet was held April 28 at the University Hilton Hotel. Six scholarships were awarded - three to student scholars and three additional scholarships to Santa Fe College and UF’s engineering bridge program - totaling $20,000 in educational support. 2016 Brighter Tomorrow Scholarship Recipients

Support the Scholarship Program

Hosted by GRU in partnership with several community organizations, the Brighter Tomorrow Scholarship Banquet is the primary fundraiser for the scholarship program. Sponsorship opportunities for the banquet are available. To learn more, please call the Office of Community Relations at 352-393-1005.
